The city of Schertz's Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a National Watermelon Day celebration at Pickrell Park pool.The event will include watermelons floating in the pool, a watermelon drop contest and other watermelon-themed activities.Festivities will be from 5-7 p.m. at 701 Oak St., Schertz. All ages are welcome. The event is included with the $3 general admission. For more information , call 210-419-9439. Participants should register online .
